Are you ready to deepen your bond with your dog?

Join a small, intimate group of dog people and their besties in the beautiful lodge among gorgeous trees and fresh air.

Learn the art of speaking dog and practice training that uses what your dog is saying as its primary focus.

Go on a nature walk, learning loose leash walking under the outstretched arms of beautiful trees.

Discover doggie mindfulness and how calming yourself will calm your dog.

Most importantly, gain a deeper understanding of what your dog is trying to tell you, and why.

Forget the Crowds

Retreats

We’re keeping the retreat small, so everyone gets focused attention.

There are only 12 rooms in the lodge, one of which Jenna, your trainer, will be using. (We recommend you stay here to maximize your time with Jenna.)

We keep the retreat small so that we can get to know one another and build relationships.

All food and drinks are included, so you don’t have to think about a thing.

Unique Information

Learning Dog Body Language

Jenna spent almost 30 years learning dog body language through study, experience, and research. It is the cornerstone of everything she teaches, because you can’t have a good relationship without good communication. Most trainers barely mention it.

Learn what your dog is trying to tell you, and

  • Deepen your dog’s trust in you
  • Further your relationship with your dog
  • See and prevent problems minutes to months before they happen
  • Address problems knowing why they’re happening, and therefore how to resolve them

Pricing and payment

Workshops And Retreats

We offer a 100% money-back guarantee if our retreat doesn’t help you and your dog.

These are prices from last year; I’m currently in the process of seeing if we can lower costs, and therefore lower prices.

  • $1100-$1300 (depending on your room) for 1 dog and 2 people.
  • $650-$750 for a room shared with one other person and dog
  • +$100 for an extra (third) participant without a dog
  • NOW FREE for an extra dog (each dog must have its own handler)
  • You’ll book your room at Scholl’s Valley Lodge through a link sent to you after you reserve your retreat spot. (Prices include cost of room.)

A $325 deposit to hold your spot will go toward the total. You can pay the deposit after registering, and the balance at the workshop. Scholl’s Valley Lodge will take your room payment separately. If you need financial help, please reach out.

Pay via Venmo or Paypal @TranslatingDog. Prefer another method? Just let us know when you book the reservation.

*NEW!

Looking for a way to cut costs? You can bring a friend and their dog, or sign up for a shared room, bringing the costs from approximately $1100-$1250 per person to as low as $650 per person. But reach out or email Jenna at [email protected] NOW to get on the list!

Problems We Can Solve and What We’ll Teach

Img_1913 - Copy

We’ll teach you to speak dog, of course. But we want to make sure you go home with a better behaved canine, too.

Although we can handle any problem behaviors — up to and including extreme human aggression — privately, there are some limits as to what we can safely have in a group setting. We can handle:

  • Leash reactivity due to over-excitement.
  • Pulling on leash/loose leash walking
  • Jumping on people, guests, etc/keeping four feet on the floor
  • Annoyance barking/warning barking
  • Food or resource guarding
  • Basic commands: sit, down, stay, come
  • Socialization
  • Anxiety

Will your dog be perfect when you go home? No, but they’ll be much better, and you’ll have the tools to keep working on it!

Things We Can’t Address

Due to the group nature of a retreat, this is not the place to address aggression. Unsure if your dog is aggressive or over-excited? Call Jenna at 951-704-5766 or send a video to [email protected] and she’ll help you figure it out!
