The Language and Training Retreat:
Date: May 1-3, 2026, at Scholl’s Valley Lodge, near Portland, OR
Are you ready to deepen your bond with your dog?
Join a small, intimate group of dog people and their besties in the beautiful lodge among gorgeous trees and fresh air.
Learn the art of speaking dog and practice training that uses what your dog is saying as its primary focus.
Go on a nature walk, learning loose leash walking under the outstretched arms of beautiful trees.
Discover doggie mindfulness and how calming yourself will calm your dog.
Most importantly, gain a deeper understanding of what your dog is trying to tell you, and why.
Forget the Crowds
We’re keeping the retreat small, so everyone gets focused attention.
There are only 12 rooms in the lodge, one of which Jenna, your trainer, will be using. (We recommend you stay here to maximize your time with Jenna.)
We keep the retreat small so that we can get to know one another and build relationships.
All food and drinks are included, so you don’t have to think about a thing.
Unique Information
Learning Dog Body Language
Jenna spent almost 30 years learning dog body language through study, experience, and research. It is the cornerstone of everything she teaches, because you can’t have a good relationship without good communication. Most trainers barely mention it.

Problems We Can Solve and What We’ll Teach
We’ll teach you to speak dog, of course. But we want to make sure you go home with a better behaved canine, too.
Although we can handle any problem behaviors — up to and including extreme human aggression — privately, there are some limits as to what we can safely have in a group setting. We can handle:
Will your dog be perfect when you go home? No, but they’ll be much better, and you’ll have the tools to keep working on it!
Things We Can’t Address
Due to the group nature of a retreat, this is not the place to address aggression. Unsure if your dog is aggressive or over-excited? Call Jenna at 951-704-5766 or send a video to [email protected] and she’ll help you figure it out!
