Oct 9-11 Dog Language Retreat
The fall edition of the dog language retreat is on! I have four rooms left, but all the drive-in spots are taken. (There is, however, a waitlist and I expect at least a couple of people will get in.)
The retreat is great if you want to:
Understand more about your dog.
Decipher dog language.
Know what type of training to use, given what your dog is saying.
Understand root causes behind your specific dog’s behaviors.
Take your training to another level.
Create a better life for your canine companion.
Expand your knowledge base.
Socialize with other safe dogs and knowledgeable owners.
Enjoy a relaxing weekend at a gorgeous, all expenses paid villa on 9 acres.
You get your room, all meals and drinks (non-alcoholic), presentations, pack walks, training (if desired) all included for just $750. I dare you to find a prettier place to spend a full weekend, all included, with gardens, walking paths, koi ponds, multiple living areas, a room of your own, and that will allow you to bring your dog. Have a spouse or a friend who wants to share your room? It’s just $150 more for them (even if they also bring a dog). Why so little? Because I want you to be able to bring your loved one!
Want to come, but aren’t sure how your dog will do overnight? You can come all weekend without staying at the villa for $475.
Don’t think you can do a whole weekend, or need something more affordable? Come just Saturday for $250, with or without your dog, and get a ton of info and work on your pup’s social skills!
Note that currently the drive-in spots, where you come but don’t stay overnight, are filled. I do, however, expect to be able to allow another couple of people in, so I’m compiling a waiting list. People on the waitlist who want to come for the whole weekend get preferential treatment over those who just want to come Saturday.
Unsure what you want to do? Let me break down the retreat for you.
Friday: We start at 3:30 on Friday. Friday is the day we learn about dog to dog social cues: what they say when they’re playing, showing aggression, negotiating peace, and so on.
Saturday: We start at 9:30 with a pack walk, then learn the body language that indicates healthy, neutral minds, stress, aggression, over-excitement, and the differences between what dogs say to each other and what they say to humans. (Yes, their language changes a little bit depending on their audience!)
Sunday: We start again at 9:30, and we talk about how to tell what your dog is saying, and therefore what kind of training would be appropriate in each situation. Even if you still need to hire a trainer, you’ll be able to put the breaks on if you realize they’re mis-reading your dog’s cues, or doing something your dog is finding too stressful.
People who have come to the retreat have told me it’s been life changing, that they thought they understood dog body language but realized they only knew a fraction of what there was to know, that it revolutionized their relationship with their dog.
What I want is for everyone to walk away a little more knowledgeable and a lot safer.
Join the retreat! This fall we’re in Salem, OR, Oct 9-11th. It’s well worthwhile.
