Dog Language and Training Retreat
Have you seen those videos where the doodle pushes the buttons to ask for things? It’s pretty amazing. But here’s the thing: aren’t we supposedly the smarter species? And yet, we’re asking dogs to learn our language while we don’t bother to learn theirs?
…Does anyone else think this is a little backwards?
Some interesting facts: humans suck at understanding their dogs(1), and dog owners are worse at understanding their dogs body language than people who don’t own dogs(2).
So… do you want to understand your dog better? Do you want to strengthen your bond and deepen your dog’s trust in you?
Of course you do! We all do! Lucky for us, I’m holding a retreat April 4-6 on dog language and training! All of my training is based on what the dog is saying: WHY they’re doing what they’re doing, so we can find the way to stop it, increase it, and understand it. The best way to learn dog language? Hands-on!
At the retreat we’ll work with our dogs, along with slides and videos, to understand what our dogs are saying, and then I’ll show you how to use that to train your dog. Dogs have different motivations: use the wrong one, and training doesn’t happen — or, horribly, a bad behavior gets worse. Dog language is the most important thing you can learn about your dog. Look, I put it in bold. I never use bold. That says something!
So, join me at the dog retreat just outside Portland, OR this April 4-6! We’re taking over a small lodge with just 9 rooms total and food is provided, so you know it’ll be an intimate group with lots of time for everyone. Rest, recharge, go on nature walks, learn more about your dog than you ever thought possible, watch movies, make friends, solve problems, create better habits. It’s going to be amazing. Want some details? Okay!
Where: Scholl’s Valley Lodge, in Hillsboro, OR, about twenty minutes outside Portland.
When: April 4-6
Cost: $1100-$1300, depending on the room you select. (For 1 dog and up to 2 people.)
Wait, what’s that? It’s out of your price range? That’s okay! I’ve just figured out a way to help. If you’re willing to share the room with one other person, then I will drop the charges and you can split the room fee, bringing the total to roughly $650-$750 per person.
Whaaaaat? I know, crazy, right? But I’m a sucker like that, and I’ll trade my bottom line for getting the word out to more people.
This, however, is probably going to go like crazy, so I suggest reaching out to me now! You can do so through the reservation page or you can email, call, or text me – check out the contact page!
Do you just want more details? Okay, hit up the retreats page and they’re all there!
Whatever you do, do it soon. There’s just three weeks left until the retreat!
